If you are submitting articles to article directories, then don’t find this crucial point out the hard way! Each article directory has their own unique Article Submission Guidelines. Don’t follow these guidelines and your articles are subject to getting rejected. Get enough rejections and you just may receive a permanent ban from that particular article directory.
It happens everyday; people join content distribution websites such as Ezinearticles.com, AssociatedContent.com, GoArticles.com, Ideamarketers.com, Buzzle.com and others but they don’t take the time to read the rules first.
And then it happens; their articles start getting rejected and more often than not, they get furious. One website owner who joined Ezine Articles and got four articles rejected right off the bat, wrote me because he felt they were discriminating against him and he was contemplating taking legal action.
As he’s ranting and raving, I’m thinking to myself, “Chill out sir! They have never seen you and never heard of you and certainly have no idea who you are!” Once he calmed down and I explained to him my thinking, he sent me the four articles for further review. Turns out he glaringly violated at least four of their clearly stated Article Submission Guidelines. Below are his four infractions.
1). He submitted four PLR articles he bought from a guru that promised him everyone would accept these articles. Seven or so years ago, many article directories accepted PLR articles before they realized that hundreds of different people were posting the exact same article and this would jeopardize their rankings with the Search Engines, so they no longer accept PLR articles.
2). His articles weren’t exactly articles; they more like hype pages for a particular Adsense Arbitrage affiliate program. He didn’t realize that articles promoting such programs were completely against Ezinearticles.com’s Article Submission Guidelines.
3). His signature box included links that went directly to the Affiliate program he was promoting. That is a NO NO, end of story!
4). He was engaging in keyword stuffing; his keyword density was probably right around seven percent and there was no way to deny it because of how bad the article read.
You need to be crystal clear on this point. Content driven websites impose editorial guidelines to assist you in clearly determining what they will approve and what they will reject. If you want to successfully submit your articles to any of the article databases - especially to the top ones, it is imperative that you get to know their Article Submission Guidelines Prior to submitting any content.
